GENEALOGY AND ANCESTRY OF BENJAMIN HARRISON, 23RD PRESIDENT

Benjamin had the first telephone installed in the White House and had electricity installed in the White House Benjamin Harrison was born on August 20, 1833 in North Bend, Ohio just outside of Cincinnati. His parents were John Scott Harrison and Elizabeth Ramsey Irwin. His grandfather was President William Henry Harrison and his great-grandfather was Virginia Governor Benjamin Harrison, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. Benjamin shares a common ancestry from John Carter, an early Virginia settler, with President Jimmy Carter. He is also descended from William Livingston, a signer of the U.S. Constitution, and his son, John Cleves Symmes, who purchased much of the land around Cincinnati from the Old Northwest Territory.
